Hello my friends :) ;)

I've been reading Mr Pipers works since a friend loaned me Little Fuzzy to read while on guard duty in Schweinfurt Germany in 1977. He was truly a great artist. I'm so happy his worlds are continuing to grow.

Hello Mr. Carr, Waiting excitedly for the biography on Piper that you are publishing this year. I am intrigued by the bits and pieces about the author on this site. It should be an excellent read! All the best, Greg

Good site.

A fine tribute to an author whose work continues to delight and instruct. Rereading SPACE VIKING and ULLER UPRISING remain particular pleasures for me. By the time of LORD KALVAN he had mastered the long form, characterization, the tiny details of individual scenes, and the whole rich business of giving imaginative fiction charm. While Piper himself would not have written GREAT KINGS' WAR the same way you have, he would have enjoyed reading it. Thank heavens we have what he left us, and thank you for celebrating his distinctive talent.

First, a typo, Mr. Carr -- your spellchecker apparently turned Gernsback into Greenback. Main point: Love the site, and will contribute what I can spare soon, hopefully. Back in junior high and high school (late 70s, early 80s) my love for literary SF was exploding and I had so many of the classics of the 50s and 60s before me to read. Somewhere in the midst of working thru Heinlein, Clarke et al I somewhat randomly found "Junkyard Planet" at the library. I loved it of course. The Michael Whelan paperback covers lured me into all the others. Definitely "love at first read". It was only a bit later, when, pre-internet, I was scrounging for any Piper I'd missed -- and puzzled by the absence of anything more recent, that I learned he'd killed himself. Damn. Keep up the great work honoring Mr. Piper -- one of thee days I also need to drum up the cash to get your last two Kalvan sequels.

Why must you resize my browser when I visit? I am much more inclined to spend the time exploring here if you don't forcibly adjust my browser window size!

We hope you enjoy the site. Please feel free to leave candid comments (in good taste, of course) about the new site and Beam Piper. Thank you.
